The Opportunity

Thomas Executive is partnering with an established financial services organisation to recruit an experienced Collections Team Leader.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused collections qualified who enjoys developing people, improving performance and delivering strong recovery outcomes.

Working closely with the Collections Manager, you will take responsibility for a team of Collections Officers, providing leadership, coaching and operational support while ensuring collections targets are consistently achieved.

The position offers genuine scope to influence team performance, improve processes and contribute to the ongoing development of the collections function.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Collections Officers to achieve performance targets.
- Monitor collections activity, arrears management and recovery outcomes.
- Provide hands-on support with complex accounts, escalations and negotiations.
- Coach team members to improve individual capability and overall team effectiveness.
- Manage workloads, prioritise activities and maintain operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve collections performance.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve commercial outcomes.
- Promote a positive, accountable and results-driven team environment.

About You





We are seeking an experienced commercial collections professional with strong technical knowledge, sound commercial judgement and the ability to motivate others.

Ideally, you will bring:

- At least seven years' experience in collections, credit management or debt recovery.
- Experience within commercial lending, financial services, asset finance or a related environment.
- Previous leadership, supervisory or mentoring experience.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, particularly when dealing with complex or sensitive accounts.
- A demonstrated ability to achieve collections targets and improve recovery performance.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing people and improving processes.
