About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Carpenter to join Tasbuilthomes on a full-time basis in Westbury, TAS 7303. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced carpenter to become an integral part of our residential construction projects. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality carpentry work that meets our exacting standards. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects whilst being part of a professional, collaborative team that values craftsmanship and precision.

Key responsibilities

- Performing accurate carpentry work including framing, timber installation, and structural elements on residential building projects

- Interpreting and working from architectural plans and building specifications to ensure all work meets design requirements

- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials to required specifications

- Installing doors, windows, cabinetry, and other timber-based components with precision and attention to detail

- Ensuring all work complies with relevant building codes, safety standards, and company quality standards

- Collaborating effectively with other trades and site supervisors to maintain project timelines and workflow

- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and ensuring proper storage and safety

- Conducting site inspections and quality checks to verify work meets specifications before handover





- Contributing to a safe work environment by following all health and safety protocols and procedures

What we're looking for

- Current and valid carpentry qualifications or trade certification demonstrating competency in carpentry work

- Minimum 3-5 years' proven experience working as a carpenter on residential construction projects

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications

- Strong practical knowledge of timber selection, joinery techniques, and various carpentry methods

- Ability to work accurately to measurements and specifications with meticulous attention to detail

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different project requirements

- Reliable, punctual, and professionally committed to delivering quality workmanship

- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within Tasmania to various project sites

- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

- Current First Aid certificate is desirable

- Experience with cabinet making or timber fit-outs is an advantage
