The Dandenong Community and Learning Centre (DCLC) is a not-for-profit organisation, focused on providing educational opportunities that enhance the lives of individuals. Our aim is to develop inclusive and caring communities, which value cultural diversity and support individuals to experience a sense of belonging within the local community.
The VACAP Homework Club Project provides opportunities for families and carers to be actively involved in their child’s learning and encourages young people of African heritage to build confidence in their learning journey, self-development and life skills.
Your role is essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering setting where young people of African heritage can not only succeed academically but also celebrate their heritage.
The Victorian African Communities Action Plan (VACAP) is a 10-year,
community-led strategy designed to create opportunities and address challenges faced by Victorians of African heritage.
- Our Essential Mission: To provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students of African heritage, creating equal opportunities for them to prosper and shine.
- Your Role: You will be a facilitator and an advocate for the academic success of young people, working closely with families to implement their feedback and concerns.
You will report to the Project Coordinator Victorian African Communities Action Plan Homework Club who will provide support and supervision.
