Internal Audit Senior Manager | Melbourne CBD - 2 days in office | $180,000-200,000 base + Super + 8% Bonus

We are partnering exclusively with a well-established organisation to recruit an Internal Audit Senior Manager into its established team.

Reporting to Head of Internal Audit, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of audit planning and delivery across a broad range of business functions outside of Corporate e.g. Operations and H&S.; You will work closely with key stakeholders, lead and develop audit professionals, and drive continuous improvement across the internal audit function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced internal audit professional looking to make their second move into industry, gain exposure to senior executives and contribute to meaningful business improvements within a high-performing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and deliver risk-based internal audits across a diverse range of business functions.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Internal Audit function, including resourcing, scheduling and delivery.
- Develop, coach and support team members and oversee external audit service providers.
- Maintain audit plans and risk assessments to ensure appropriate coverage of key business areas.
- Assess control effectiveness, identify emerging risks and deliver evidence-based audit conclusions.
- Prepare clear, insightful audit reports highlighting key risks, root causes and recommended improvements.
- Monitor and validate management actions, ensuring issues are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and coordinate with other assurance providers.
- Maintain high standards of audit quality, methodology and professional practice.
- Drive process improvement, innovation and efficiency across the Internal Audit function.

About You





- CA/CPA qualified with a background in Big 4 or mid-tier professional services.
- Relevant industry background e.g. Construction, Engineering, Mining, Infrastructure, Energy
- Senior Manager or Director-level experience, with a preference for candidates making their second move into industry.
- Strong internal audit experience is essential; external audit experience alone will not be suitable.
- Experience in a complex, operationally focused organisation is highly desirable.
- Exposure to operational audits beyond corporate functions is essential.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop people while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior leaders.
- A proactive, collaborative and courageous approach, with a solid focus on accountability, impact and continuous improvement.
