Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Machinist looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a mechanically skilled tradesperson to join an established maintenance team within a large industrial manufacturing environment in Colac.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical trade background and experience across machining, mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance. Offering a competitive hourly rate, additional night shift loading and overtime opportunities, including weekends.
The Role
- Night Shift: 5 shifts commencing Sunday at 10:30pm and finishing Friday morning at 7:00am
- $47.00 per hour + 30% night shift loading ($61.10 per hour)
- Overtime opportunities available, including weekends
- Carry out preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Machine, modify and manufacture mechanical components as required
- Operate workshop machinery, including manual lathes and milling machines
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
- Maintain and repair industrial machinery and production equipment
- Perform mechanical fitting, component replacement and equipment overhauls
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow site safety procedures and maintenance standards
About You
- Recognised mechanical trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Machinist or another relevant mechanical trade)
- Experience in mechanical fitting, machining or industrial maintenance
- Practical experience operating manual lathes and milling machines
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Ability to manufacture, modify and repair mechanical components
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Robust commitment to workplace health and safety
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous
