Public Sector People are working with QLD State Government department based in Brisbane CBD, who are seeking a Senior Release of Information Officer (AO6) on a temporary contract, with the opportunity for extension.

This role sits within the Legal Services team and is responsible for managing Right to Information, Information Privacy and release of information matters across the organisation.

The Job

- Role - AO6 - RTI officer
- Pay - $79 per hour + 12% super (PAYG)
- Client - QLD State Gov
- Contract - Initial contract until 30th June 2027 + extension
- Location - Brisbane CBD
- WFH - Up to two days per week (pending performance)

Role Responsibilities

- Manage and assess RTI, Information Privacy, and administrative access applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Handle complex and sensitive information requests, privacy complaints, breaches, subpoenas, and statutory information release matters.
- Coordinate reviews, appeals,



and stakeholder engagement with external oversight bodies.
- Develop policies, reports, training, and advice while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

- Experience managing RTI, privacy, information governance, legal administration or related functions
- Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience handling complex cases and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
