DRD Group is currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators / Remote Dredge Operators to join a specialist pumping and dredging contractor supporting mining operations across Western Australia's Goldfields and Pilbara regions.
This is a great opportunity for skilled operators seeking ongoing FIFO work across multiple mine sites, working within an experienced and supportive team.

About the Role
The position involves operating a 23-tonne long-reach excavator fitted with a dredge attachment, supporting dredging, dewatering and water management activities across WA mine sites.
Working as part of a small, hands-on crew, your responsibilities will include:

- Operating excavators for dredging and dewatering operations.
- Assisting with remote dredging activities.
- Handling, positioning and relocating pumps, hoses and pipework.
- Moving and setting up equipment across site.
- Assisting with general site duties and operational activities.
- Working collaboratively with the crew to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Adhering to all site safety procedures and requirements.

This is a hands-on, team-focused role.



Successful candidates must be willing to step outside the excavator and assist with general site activities whenever required.

Essential Requirements

- Current Excavator Operator ticket.
- Proven excavator operating experience.
- Previous mining or civil operating experience.
- Robust commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively within a small team.
- Willingness to assist with general site duties.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Clean National Police Clearance.

Highly Regarded

- Previous dewatering, dredging or water management experience.
- Experience operating long-reach excavators.
- Exposure to pumping systems, hoses and pipework.
- Telehandler ticket.
- Dogging (DG) ticket.
- HR Driver's Licence.
- Additional mobile plant operating tickets.

Previous remote dredging experience is not essential. Operators with strong excavator experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
