About Wingman Recruitment
Wingman Recruitment partners with Australian businesses by providing skilled remote recruitment professionals who become an extension of their teams.
We offer structured onboarding, ongoing support and long-term career growth opportunities, connecting experienced recruitment professionals with businesses looking to grow and strengthen their teams.

About the Role
We're looking for a confident, commercially minded Recruitment Business Manager – Healthcare & Growth to help drive business development, secure new clients and build a sustainable recruitment business supporting the Australian market.
This is more than a traditional recruitment management role. You'll take ownership of the sales function, develop new business opportunities, convert prospective clients into active accounts and establish the processes needed to support continued growth.
Your Australian healthcare recruitment experience will be essential in identifying market opportunities, understanding client needs and building relationships with organisations seeking specialist healthcare talent.
You'll initially manage and support an existing recruitment consultant, with the opportunity to build and lead a larger recruitment team as the business expands.
This role is ideal for an experienced agency recruiter who combines strong healthcare recruitment knowledge with proven business development skills and the confidence to take ownership of commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Acquisition

- Lead business development activities and establish a consistent pipeline of new clients.
- Identify target organisations, hiring decision-makers and opportunities within the Australian healthcare market.
- Conduct proactive outreach, client meetings and business development conversations.
- Present recruitment solutions, negotiate commercial terms and secure new client agreements.
- Convert leads and enquiries into signed agreements and active recruitment assignments.
- Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to grow existing accounts.
- Develop strategies to generate new business independently rather than relying solely on referrals or externally generated vacancies.

Sales Pipeline & Commercial Performance

- Own and manage the sales pipeline using Loxo or the relevant recruitment CRM.
- Track leads, client conversations, follow-ups, conversion rates and sales activity.
- Develop sales strategies and maintain accurate forecasts and performance reporting.
- Work towards agreed revenue, billing and business development targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, productivity and profitability.
- Establish repeatable business development workflows that support sustainable growth.

Healthcare Recruitment & Market Development

- Apply your knowledge of Australian healthcare recruitment to identify potential clients and market opportunities.
- Develop relationships with healthcare providers and organisations requiring specialist talent.
- Understand recruitment needs across allied health and related healthcare disciplines,

including occupational therapy and speech pathology.
- Identify opportunities to expand into additional healthcare specialisations and other recruitment sectors where appropriate.
- Provide recruitment expertise and support on complex, senior or priority vacancies when required.
- Monitor market activity and identify opportunities to strengthen the business's position within the Australian recruitment market.

Team Leadership & Development

- Initially manage, coach and support an existing recruitment consultant.
- Establish clear expectations, performance measures and regular coaching practices.
- Provide guidance on recruitment strategies, candidate quality and complex vacancies.
- Support the consultant's development while maintaining effective recruitment delivery.
- Help build the structure, processes and capability required to grow a predominantly offshore recruitment team.
- Take on broader leadership responsibilities as the business expands.

Business Operations & Growth

- Work closely with business leadership to establish commercial priorities and growth strategies.
- Develop practical processes for sales, reporting, pipeline management and performance monitoring.
- Identify operational improvements that support efficiency and consistent service delivery.
- Help establish a business structure that can operate effectively with less reliance on external support.
- Take ownership of initiatives that contribute to the business's long-term growth and independence.

Industry Sectors Primary Focus – Healthcare

- Allied Health
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Healthcare Recruitment

- Other Specialist Recruitment Markets

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience in agency recruitment within the Australian market.
- Essential: Australian healthcare recruitment experience.
- Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition and winning new recruitment assignments.
- Confidence engaging prospective clients, presenting services, negotiating terms and closing business.
- Experience managing, coaching or developing recruitment consultants.
- Strong understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle, from winning new clients to placement and account management.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to work towards revenue, billing and growth targets.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building and presentation skills.
- Experience using recruitment CRM or ATS platforms.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple commercial priorities.
- A proactive, resilient and accountable approach to work.
- Confidence working independently and making decisions in a developing business environment.

- Willingness to take ownership of business development and help establish processes rather than relying on an already established structure.

Highly Preferred

- Experience building a recruitment desk, sales function or recruitment business from an early stage.
- Experience managing offshore recruitment teams.
- Familiarity with Loxo recruitment software.
- Experience developing sales pipelines, client acquisition strategies and business development campaigns.
- Experience using recruitment marketing, social sourcing and targeted outreach to generate opportunities.
- Experience establishing KPIs, reporting frameworks and commercial performance measures.
- Experience across multiple recruitment specialisations or industry sectors.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You Are

- Commercially Driven — you enjoy winning new clients, generating revenue and seeing the results of your business development efforts.
- Confident — you can lead conversations with decision-makers, negotiate commercial terms and close opportunities professionally.
- A Natural Leader — you can coach an existing consultant and develop a team as the business grows.
- Strategic but Hands-On — you can develop a growth plan while taking responsibility for executing it.
- Adaptable — you're comfortable working in a growing business where processes and structures are still evolving.
- Accountable — you take ownership of targets, follow up opportunities and see commitments through to completion.
- Growth-Minded — you're motivated by the opportunity to help build a business rather than simply manage an established recruitment desk.

What Success Looks Like
You'll establish a consistent business development pipeline, convert prospective clients into active accounts and help increase the volume of recruitment assignments generated directly by the business.
You'll also provide effective leadership to the existing recruitment consultant, introduce practical sales and reporting processes, and help build the foundations for a larger recruitment team.
Success means delivering against agreed commercial targets, strengthening the business's client base and helping create a sustainable recruitment operation with the capability to grow independently.
