Based in Geelong, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join us at HK Solutions, a growing national engineering consultancy where your technical leadership will directly contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure and development projects across Australia.

You’ll lead civil engineering projects from concept through to construction, combining technical expertise with practical project leadership. You’ll work closely with clients, project managers, designers and other disciplines to shape solutions, guide delivery and ensure quality outcomes.

THE ROLE

Working as part of our civil engineering team and based in Geelong, you’ll lead the planning, design and delivery of a variety of civil infrastructure projects for clients across Victoria and nationally.

You’ll provide senior technical input, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support strong commercial and client outcomes from early planning through to construction. At HKS, leadership is an expectation of every senior role, whether or not it includes formal people leadership responsibilities. You’ll lead by example, take ownership, share your expertise and support others to deliver their best work.

Your responsibilities will include:





- Leading civil engineering design and delivery across infrastructure and land development projects
- Preparing and reviewing technical designs, calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
- Providing practical, commercially aware engineering solutions that meet client, regulatory and project requirements
- Managing project scope, program, budget, quality and technical risk
- Coordinating civil design activities with internal teams, external consultants and other technical disciplines
- Building trusted relationships with clients, contractors, authorities and other project stakeholders
- Providing technical guidance, quality reviews and mentoring to engineers and designers
- Supporting proposals, fee estimates and business development opportunities
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and project outcomes while contributing to a positive team culture

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In your first 12 months, you’ll:

- Become a trusted senior member of our civil engineering team
- Lead the successful delivery of civil projects with strong technical, commercial and client outcomes
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, authorities and internal stakeholders
- Provide clear technical leadership and support the development of less experienced team members
- Contribute ideas that strengthen our civil capability, project delivery and team efficiency

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an experienced civil engineer who combines strong technical capability with sound judgement, commercial awareness and a collaborative leadership style. You’ll ideally bring:

- A recognised qualification in civil engineering
- Qualified Engineer or Chartered status
- Substantial experience delivering civil infrastructure or land development projects, ideally within an engineering consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge across civil design, documentation and construction support
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs




- Working knowledge of relevant Australian standards, authority requirements and industry practices
- Experience with AutoCAD and 12d or Civil 3D, together with the ability to review and guide design documentation
- Solid commercial awareness, including scope, program, budget and risk management
- Excellent communication, client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills
- A practical, down-to-earth approach and a genuine commitment to mentoring and teamwork
- Flexibility to undertake occasional short-term travel to regional and remote project locations
