Lead the finance function of an established national business with genuine inventory and cash flow complexity

This is an prospect to step into a senior finance leadership position within an established Australian business operating in a complex, commercially driven environment.
We’re looking for an inventory and cash-flow minded Head of Finance who enjoys being close to the numbers and the business. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role spanning finance, cash flow, inventory, foreign exchange, compliance and commercial decision-making, with the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and help shape the organisation’s future direction.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take ownership of the finance function and lead the finance team, while working closely with leaders across the broader business.
This is a genuinely hands-on CFO position. You’ll oversee daily cash flow and forecasting, monthly financial reporting, budgets, banking facilities, inventory finance and foreign exchange, alongside the organisation’s broader tax, compliance and audit requirements. You’ll also contribute to management meetings and work with the Managing Director on company goals and strategic plans.

What you'll need to succeed




You’ll be an experienced finance leader with strong technical accounting capability and the commercial confidence to operate across a diverse business. An Accounting degree and CA or CPA membership are required, while previous external audit experience is preferred.
Experience working with cash flow, financial reporting, budgeting and compliance will be important. Exposure to inventory or floor plan facilities and foreign exchange would be particularly valuable given the nature of the role.
Just as importantly, you’ll be comfortable leading a team, working directly with senior decision-makers and balancing strategic thinking with a willingness to remain hands-on when required.
