Join the Brisbane CBD or Brendale office of a leading northside accounting firm, working alongside experienced Managers and Partners across financial statements, tax compliance, tax planning and client reporting.
Regular training, individual development plans and support for your CA or CPA studies provide a foundation for progression. The city office is approximately a five-minute walk from Central Station, with hybrid work after onboarding (2-4 weeks).
The Role
Work primarily with SMEs and family-owned businesses across a range of industries, developing your understanding of their structures, operations and reporting needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns across business entities
- Preparing BAS, reconciliations and supporting workpapers
- Assisting with tax planning and client reporting
- Working with Partners and Managers on client assignments
- Communicating with clients to obtain information and clarify queries
- Researching accounting and taxation matters with senior guidance
- Using Xero, MYOB and cloud-based systems to maintain accurate records
- Managing allocated work, keeping colleagues informed and raising issues early
New starters receive a gradual introduction to productivity expectations over their first three months, allowing time for training and learning the firm's systems.
What You'll Bring
- Two to four years of Australian public practice experience in business services
- A Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce
- CA or CPA studies underway, or a completed qualification
- Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS
- Working knowledge of Xero and MYOB
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to clients
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn from feedback

Business Services is its largest division, with approximately 40 staff and five Partners supporting clients across varied industries. This prospect focuses primarily on SMEs and family-owned businesses.
The broader practice provides accounting, taxation, audit, business advisory and outsourced CFO services. Strategic planning and business improvement form part of its offering, creating opportunities to understand clients beyond annual compliance.
