JD: Senior Java Microservices Developer – Kafka & Banking

- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

- Build API services integrating digital/channel applications with Core Banking platforms and downstream banking systems.

- Develop Kafka producers and consumers for asynchronous and event-driven processing.

- Implement Kafka topics, consumer groups, partitioning strategies, error handling

- Implement exception handling, validation, audit logging, monitoring and traceability across API and Kafka flows.

- Write unit, component and integration tests using tools such as JUnit, Mockito and Testcontainers.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to secure coding, API and microservices engineering standards.

- Troubleshoot integration and production issues across APIs, Kafka and backend/core banking services

- Work closely with solution architects, business analysts, testers,



DevOps engineers and SMEs throughout the delivery lifecycle.

- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and production releases.

Experience, Tools & Technologies:

- Solid hands-on Java, preferably Java 10+ years of experience

- Spring Boot, Spring Framework and Spring Security

- RESTful API and microservices development

- Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture

- Kafka Producer/Consumer APIs and preferably Spring for Apache Kafka

- OAuth 2.0, JWT and TLS/mTLS

- SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL

- Git and Maven/Gradle

- Junit and API/integration testing

- Docker and containerised application development

- CI/CD using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps

- Observability and monitoring using platforms such as Splunk, Grafana or Application Insights
