The Role

Full Time Client-Side Project Manager representing building owners in a variety of remedial, fire safety upgrades, and other capital repairs and improvements at their buildings.

Typical clients are Strata buildings in residential and mixed-use buildings. The role entails concept development, detailed design coordination, coordination of planning consent, tender management and analysis, coordination of suitable contracts for the works package(s), head contract superintendent.

Requirements

- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (Construction Related Disciplines) or Construction Project Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction field either in construction or client-side roles as Project Manager or Technical Design Engineer.
- Experience with Remedial and Fire Upgrade Projects: Demonstrated track record in managing complex projects related to building remediation and fire safety, including structural repairs, waterproofing, and fire protection system installations.
- Experience working on, preferably managing projects in the range of $200k to $10M.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively manage diverse stakeholders, including clients’ representatives, regulatory authorities, and project professionals, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout all project stages.



Experience working with Strata Committees or equivalent is beneficial.
- Technical Documentation Review: Proficiency in reviewing technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications, including plans, reports, and drawings.
- Review of Fire and Hydraulic Services Designs: Strong capability in reviewing fire services (e.g., sprinklers and hydrants) and hydraulic services (e.g., cold water, gas, hot water systems), ensuring comprehensive solutions aligned with project needs.
- Multidisciplinary Coordination: Ability to coordinate and review designs across various disciplines, including structural, electrical, and mechanical, to ensure integration and functionality of all systems.
- Regulatory Liaison and Compliance: Experience in liaising with regulatory bodies and authorities, managing planning approvals and compliance for fire safety measures, such as Fire Orders and coordinating with relevant agencies.
- Construction Oversight and Support: Proficient in acting as a Construction Superintendent and providing support engineering during construction phases, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Budgeting and Tender Management: Skilled in developing budgeting schedules, strategies, and coordinating tender processes,



including preparation and submission to clients, and effective management of project finances.
- Sustainable Solutions: Demonstrated experience in implementing sustainable practices such as EV charging infrastructure, solar energy systems, stormwater reutilization and other environmentally friendly solutions.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: Background in issuing progress claims, assessing variations, documenting critical inspections, and preparing comprehensive reports, utilizing engineering-oriented system administration tools for efficient project management and documentation.
- Contract Management: Experience managing the formulation of suitable Construct and/or Design and Construct Contracts including provision of brief to legal representatives and assistance with negotiation between Client Team and Contractor.
- Availability for Evening Strata Meetings: Willingness to attend evening strata meetings with clients as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to ongoing support and communication throughout all project phases.
- Procore Certification (Desired): Preference for candidates with Procore certification, showcasing proficiency in this project management software and its applications in construction and remediation projects.
- IT Systems Proficiency (Desired): Proficient in utilizing IT systems relevant to project management, including but not limited to simPRO, ensuring efficient communication, documentation, and workflow management.
- Excel Super User (Desired): Ability to assist with the optimisation of existing in-house systems within the Microsoft Suite specifically Excel.
