The opportunity.

Are you an experienced technology leader who can balance strategic thinking with the delivery of secure, reliable and customer-focused IT services?

We are looking for a Head of IT Operations to lead and evolve our IT Operations function and play a key role in ensuring Defence Bank's technology environment supports our strategic, operational, security and regulatory needs. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for the Bank's IT Operations strategy and the delivery of customer-centric technology solutions.





You will lead and develop our IT Operations team, while partnering across the Bank and with external service providers to deliver reliable and secure technology services, strengthen operational resilience and information security, and continually modernise our application environment.

Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

- Lead and evolve Defence Bank’s IT Operations strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing IT Operations team.
- Deliver reliable, secure and responsive technology services and support.
- Oversee operational resilience, including disaster recovery, business continuity, risk and regulatory controls.
- Manage and modernise the Bank’s application environment and key technology service providers.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation to simplify operations and improve service delivery.
- Partner across the Bank on strategic initiatives while managing technology investment and delivering value

Skills And Experiences

About You

You are an accomplished technology operations leader who combines strong technical foundations with commercial judgement, people leadership and a genuine service mindset. You are comfortable operating in a regulated setting where resilience, security and risk management matter, while still looking for opportunities to simplify,



modernise and innovate.

You build strong teams and trusted relationships, can move comfortably between strategic priorities and operational challenges, and understand that great technology operations ultimately enable better experiences for both employees and members.

You will have:

- Leadership experience in IT Operations within an APRA-regulated environment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing technology teams.
- Experience with APRA CPS 230 and CPS 234 requirements.
- Broad expertise across cloud, hybrid cloud, information security and application modernisation.
- Strong commercial and stakeholder management capability, with experience across risk, data governance and privacy.
- A continuous improvement mindset, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and technology certifications
