Are you a creative, people-focused events professional who loves bringing ideas to life? Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is looking for an Events Officer to help deliver inclusive, engaging in-person and online events that connect people, strengthen communities and create positive change.

Why Join QDN?

For more than 20 years, QDN has worked alongside people with disability to build a more inclusive Queensland. We are a human rights-based, member-led organisation representing a vibrant network of more than 3,000 people with disability and supporters across the state. Guided by our motto, “Nothing about us, without us,” we inform, connect, lead and influence change.

At QDN, you will be part of a collaborative, energetic team where people share ideas, celebrate achievements and pitch in to deliver meaningful work. This is a great opportunity to bring your administration skills to a purpose-driven workplace that values inclusion, connection, continuous improvement and a positive team culture.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a full-time, fixed-term contract until September 3rd, 2027 and will coordinate and support a diverse calendar of events across QDN’s activities. Working with project teams, members and stakeholders, you will help deliver events on time, within budget and to a high standard. Your work will include coordinating venues, accessible spaces, interpreters and digital supports; supporting online events through Zoom and Microsoft Teams; and building strong relationships with members, government, community organisations and sector partners.

You will manage multiple priorities, contribute to team meetings and help ensure QDN’s events reflect our values. Some travel will be required.

About you

You are an enthusiastic event coordinator and confident communicator who enjoys variety, teamwork and practical problem-solving. You can work independently, use sound judgement and know when to seek guidance. You bring excellent organisation, time management, writing and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to keep several projects moving and deadlines on track.

Experience supporting events in disability, health, human services or community settings is highly desirable. You are comfortable using Microsoft 365, Zoom and Teams, and you understand how thoughtful planning creates inclusive experiences. A qualification in event management, digital marketing or a related discipline—or substantial relevant experience—will be highly regarded.

Knowledge of the issues that matter to people with disability is key. We deeply value lived experience, and people with disability or family connections to disability are strongly encouraged to apply.

What we offer

QDN offers meaningful work, a welcoming and inclusive team culture, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that matter. The role is classified under the Social, Community,

Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Social and Community Services Employee Level 4.1, with remuneration of $92,279.20 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, 17.5% leave loading and the option to salary sacrifice up to $15,900 to increase your take-home pay.

You will join a fun, passionate and purpose-driven workplace where your contribution is valued, your ideas are welcomed and your work can help shape a more inclusive Queensland.

Equality Statement

QDN is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and cultures. We deeply value lived experience and strongly encourage applications from people with disability, and from people with family or community connections to disability.
