Parts Interpreter – Earthmoving Equipment OEM

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Parts Interpreter who understands the importance of accurate parts identification, competitive purchasing and reliable parts availability to support equipment sales, servicing and repairs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role combining parts interpretation, purchasing, inventory management and supplier coordination.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the service, workshop, warehouse and purchasing teams, you will play a key role in ensuring genuine OEM and aftermarket parts are sourced efficiently from local Australian suppliers.

You will be responsible for managing parts enquiries, coordinating purchasing requirements, monitoring supplier lead times and identifying alternative supply options to minimise equipment downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Source, purchase and procure genuine OEM and aftermarket parts from local Australian suppliers to support earthmoving equipment sales, servicing and repairs.

Prepare and process purchase orders, monitor supplier lead times and follow up outstanding orders to minimise equipment downtime.

Manage parts enquiries from service technicians, workshop personnel, dealers and customers, providing accurate parts identification and pricing.

Maintain accurate supplier details, pricing,



parts records and inventory information within the company's ERP or inventory management system.

Monitor stock levels, identify fast-moving and critical components, and recommend purchasing requirements to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

Coordinate with warehouse, service and logistics teams to ensure parts are received, checked, stored and distributed efficiently.

Investigate incorrect, damaged or faulty parts, manage returns and warranty claims, and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues.

Identify alternative local suppliers and equivalent components to overcome supply shortages, improve availability and reduce lead times.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Coordinator or Parts Purchasing Officer within the earthmoving, construction machinery, agricultural or heavy equipment industry.

Strong knowledge of OEM and aftermarket parts, ideally relating to earthmoving machinery.

Experience sourcing and purchasing parts through Australian suppliers.

Excellent parts identification, organisation and supplier negotiation skills.

Confidence managing purchase orders, stock levels, supplier lead times and inventory records.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with service technicians, workshop personnel and customers.

A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on parts availability, accuracy and minimising equipment downtime.
