We require the Mechanical fitter to be able to deliver the following:

Process Plant experience - preferably Oil and Gas / F&B; / Pharmaceuticals / Mining

Perform Scheduled/Preventative and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, aerators, fans, etc)

Pump, motor, fan, aerator installation, overhaul and alignment

Gearbox maintenance, overhaul and troubleshooting

Bearing replacement and lubrication practices

Mechanical seals, gland packing and seal systems

Couplings, drive systems and belt drives

Valve maintenance (butterfly, gate, knife gate, ball, actuated valves)

Pipework repairs and modifications

Pipe / flange alignment techniques, understanding of pipe strain

Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Fabrication & welding experience- MIG/TIG/ARC

Fault Finding & Reliability

Root cause analysis of equipment failures

Vibration and condition monitoring awareness

Interpreting mechanical drawings and P&IDs;

Diagnosing failures in pumps, mixers, blowers and conveyors, and pipe strain

Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Maximo)





Ability to communicate and good reporting skills to operations/team members.

Qualifications & Certifications

Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) minimum

Computer skills for CMMS and mobile work management
