We’re partnering with a leading Australian law firm to appoint a Business Development Manager / Senior BD Executive to its Technology & IP practice in Sydney.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious BD professional who is ready to set up into a Manager role or wants to work closely with high-calibre partners on growth strategy, client development, pursuits and market positioning within one of the most dynamic areas of the legal market.

About the Role

- Partner with senior stakeholders across the Technology & IP practice to deliver strategic BD initiatives
- Drive client targeting, development and relationship-building activities
- Manage and coordinate pitches, tenders, RFPs and major pursuits
- Identify new business opportunities through market, competitor and client insights
- Support practice and client planning, pipeline management and growth initiatives
- Develop compelling capability statements, presentations and client-facing materials
- Work on thought leadership, campaigns, events and profile-raising initiatives
- Collaborate across practices to identify cross-selling and broader client opportunities
- Bring fresh ideas to the way the team uses CRM,



data, technology and AI to enhance BD effectiveness
- Take real ownership of projects and work directly with partners and senior business leaders

About You

- Around 2–5 years’ BD or marketing experience, gained within a law firm or professional services environment
- Experience supporting or managing pitches, proposals, client initiatives and strategic BD projects
- Confident working directly with partners and senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot opportunities and turn ideas into action
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive, curious and genuinely interested in technology, innovation and AI
- Ready to step up into a Junior Manager role, or an established BD professional looking for your next move
