The Team Leader Waste and Recycling role is responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of Council's waste, recycling and resource recovery services through the development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of innovative, customer-focused and environmentally sustainable programs, projects and initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager Fleet, Civil and Waste Operations, you will provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team while overseeing service planning, contract management, budget performance, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also provides specialist technical advice on waste and recycling matters, including development assessment processes, service planning, regulatory compliance and resource recovery outcomes.

This position offers the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, lead meaningful environmental initiatives and deliver services that directly impact our community every day.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams within a complex operational environment.
- Significant experience in the strategic planning, management and delivery of waste, recycling, resource recovery or related services.
- Proven experience managing budgets, contracts and service delivery outcomes with strong commercial acumen.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including preparation of reports, business cases and recommendations.
