National HR Business Partner and Generalist

About the role

Joining the team at either our Sydney (CBD) or Gold Coast (Robina) office, the National HR Business Partner and Generalist is responsible for providing strategic and consultative guidance and advice to support and coach the senior and executive leaders across the Aurora Healthcare group. The role partners with executives and operational leaders to improve performance, strengthen workforce and organisational capability, manage risk, and implement consistent workplace solutions across a complex, geographically dispersed healthcare setting.

The National HR Business Partner and Generalist will have expertise in employment relations matters, including, but not limited to, Fair Work Commission disputes, HR case management of performance, conduct, and grievances, undertaking workplace investigations and ultimately ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all employees. To succeed in this role, you will ideally come from the healthcare sector (aged care, mental health or hospital and healthcare).

Key responsibilities

- Act as a trusted partner to the leadership teams to provide guidance and advice on strategic and operational matters and data informed initiatives
- Work closely with leaders to ensure HR initiatives, organisational design, talent management, leadership development, and succession planning align with strategic objectives
- Provide timely, evidence-based advice on performance, capability, workforce,



operating model and change matters
- Support change management efforts and foster a high-performance culture across the organisation
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management process and best practice aligned to current industry trends and case law
- Offer coaching and development opportunities for executives and senior leaders to enhance their leadership effectiveness
- Support the development and implementation of diverse HR policies and initiatives designed to enhance organisational performance and foster positive culture change
- Support national and site leaders by advising on their talent acquisition strategies for key roles
- Provide insights and guidance on compensation, benefits, and rewards to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity
- Support workforce planning and advise on strategies to address staffing needs and gaps

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a HR Generalist role
- Proven experience in a senior business partnering, strategy, operations, or a people advisory role within a complex national organisation working with senior leadership teams
- Experience in managing complex ER issues
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Current knowledge of Australian ER/IR legislation and practices
- Strong understanding of the mental health and/or healthcare industry
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation
- Highly developed problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
- Ability to interpret industrial instruments and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements
