Turning Stones Recruitment
Canberra
Executive influence. Commercial pace. Genuine purpose.
Help shape the next chapter of Canberra’s leading community housing providers. Reporting directly to the CEO and working as part of the Executive Team, you’ll lead CHC’s people agenda through a significant period of growth and organisational evolution.
This is a senior organisational leadership position with genuine strategic influence and direct accountability for practical, hands-on delivery. You’ll be a trusted adviser at the executive table while remaining closely connected to leaders, teams and the realities of the business.
What you’ll do
Lead a broad People & Culture function, translating organisational strategy into workforce priorities that are commercially grounded, compliant and deliverable. Your remit includes:
- Organisational design, workforce planning and capability development
- Trusted strategic advice to the CEO, Board and Executive Team
- Culture, engagement, talent acquisition, succession and leadership development
- Employee and industrial relations, performance and remuneration
- HR governance, systems, workforce reporting, compliance and people risk
- Coaching leaders, resolving complex people matters and delivering change across the business
You’ll move confidently from executive decisions on structure and capability to supporting managers with day-to-day people challenges.
In a lean, regulated and asset-intensive environment, sound judgement, responsiveness and follow-through matter.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive generalist HR leadership experience, ideally through growth or transformation
- Commercial acumen, executive credibility and the confidence to constructively challenge
- Solid operational HR capability and a pragmatic, sleeves-rolled-up approach
- The ability to build trust at every level while balancing pace, risk and organisational values
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional membership of AHRI will be highly regarded.
