Director of Finance and Business Operations: Freshwater Christian College, QLD

This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished Director of Finance and Business Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across the College’s financial and business functions. Reporting to the Principal as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role is pivotal in ensuring long-term financial sustainability and aligning resources, infrastructure and operations with the College’s educational mission and strategic goals. The successful candidate will bring substantial expertise in strategic financial management, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, alongside proven leadership of complex business operations. Overseeing finance, facilities, capital development, ICT, risk and compliance, the Director will provide strategic financial advice to the Principal and Board and strengthen operational effectiveness. Experience in schools, including an understanding of Kindergarten funding and regulatory requirements, will be valuable. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- An authentic Christian faith with a genuine commitment to actively, uphold and promote the Christian beliefs,



values and strategic vision of Freshwater Christian College.
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in financial management and business operations, ideally within a school or similar environment.
- Solid strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting capability, with the ability to translate financial data into clear advice for non-financial audiences.
- Sound knowledge of governance, compliance and risk management frameworks, including taxation and funding acquittal requirements.
- Experience managing capital works, facilities and major projects.
- Proven capacity to lead, develop and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the College Board, staff, parents and wider community.

Applicants must have a right to work in Australia and hold relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or business. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
