We are seeking a high-calibre, hands-on General Manager to lead our day-to-day operations, drive strategic growth, oversee infrastructure projects, and champion a vibrant customer service culture.
The Role & What You'll Do
Reporting directly to the Commodore and Board of Directors, you will hold complete operational and commercial accountability for the club. This is a multi-faceted executive role balancing high-level financial strategy with on-the-ground operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

- Operational Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operations of the club, including the clubhouse, bistro, marina facilities, and member services.
- Financial & Commercial Governance: Drive financial management, including budget creation, monthly rolling forecasts, cash flow, project cost controls, and monthly reporting in partnership with the Treasurer.
- People & Culture: Lead, mentor, and recruit a high-performing team. Build a culture of service excellence, positivity, and accountability.
- Capital Works & Project Management: Deliver major infrastructure and capital works projects from financial due diligence through to completion.
- Stakeholder & Board Management: Act as the prominent "face of the club." Prepare comprehensive monthly Board reporting packs, manage legal/contractual risks, and execute board policies seamlessly.

Hours & Onsite Accommodation Requirements
This is an immersive lifestyle role that requires strong visibility during the club's most vibrant periods.

- Onsite Residence:



To support the 24/7 nature of our peak operations and handle after-hours phone escalations, it is a non-negotiable requirement of this role to reside onsite. A beautiful, rent-free house with all outgoings covered is provided as part of your package.
- Front-of-House Presence: You will be expected to be present and engaged with members in the Bistro on Friday nights (3 out of 4 Fridays from October through Easter; 3 out of 5 Fridays during the off-peak season).
- Peak Periods: You must be onsite during major peak holidays (including the Melbourne Cup weekend, 26 December through the end of January, all long weekends, and Easter).

About You
To be successful in this position, you will be an energetic executive who thrives in a member-driven or premium hospitality/leisure environment.
Requirements:

- Proven experience as a General Manager, Club Manager, or Senior Operations Manager within a member-based club, resort, premium hospitality venue, or similar asset-heavy business.
- Robust financial acumen with deep experience in budgeting, P&L; management, forecasting, and presenting financial packs to a Board or committee.
- Demonstrated experience managing capital works, facility maintenance, and vendor contracts.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building positive, cohesive, and customer-centric teams.
- A diplomatic, robust communicator who can confidently act as the bridge between an elected Board and a passionate membership base.
- Willingness to fully commit to the onsite living arrangements and weekend/holiday schedules required to successfully run a premier destination club.
