Bajara Plant Hire is seeking experienced Pipelayers and Pipelayer Labourers (Toppies) to join our team on a large scale stormwater project in Central Brisbane.

These are casual roles starting in the coming weeks. We are looking for people with extensive experience on major infrastructure projects who can hit the ground running and work safely as part of a pipe crew. These opportunities could grow into long term roles for the right candidates.

What you’ll be doing

- Laying and jointing large diameter stormwater pipe
- Setting out and working to grade using laser levels
- Installing pits, headwalls and associated drainage structures
- Working in trench shields and shoring systems in line with site procedures
- Bedding, haunching and backfilling to specification

Toppies/Labourers

- Supporting the pipelayer and excavator operator from the top of the trench




- Guiding and slinging pipe and materials safely into the trench
- Spotting for plant and keeping the work area clear and safe
- Assisting with bedding, backfill and compaction
- General site duties as directed by the foreman

What we’re looking for

- Extensive experience on large scale civil infrastructure projects
- Pipelayers: minimum 5 years’ experience in pipelaying, with large diameter stormwater experience highly regarded
- Toppies/Labourers: minimum 2 years’ experience working on a pipe crew
- Solid understanding of trench safety, shoring and working around live plant
- Confined space and working at heights tickets highly regarded
