Spanish Teacher - Growing Futures, Together at Narrarrang
Narrarrang Primary School opened in 2026 with a unique opportunity: to build an exceptional school and community from the ground up.
As we prepare for our second year, our community and team are growing. Our foundations are established, but there remains a genuine opportunity for new staff to help shape the school we are becoming.
We are building a school where every learner is seen, known, valued and challenged; where learning is purposeful, rigorous and joyful; and where high expectations are matched by strong relationships, inclusion and a belief in every learner's capacity to thrive.
In 2027, we are excited to introduce Spanish as our core Languages program.
Informed by educational evidence, curriculum considerations and community consultation, our ambition is to establish a high-quality Foundation¿6 program that develops genuine language proficiency, confident communication and intercultural understanding.
We believe language learning should go beyond exposure to vocabulary and cultural experiences. We want learners to develop the knowledge and skills to communicate meaningfully, understand how languages work and appreciate different ways of thinking, living and connecting with others.
We are seeking an excellent teacher with strong Spanish language proficiency, sound pedagogical knowledge and the enthusiasm to help establish and grow this program.
The people we're looking for
At Narrarrang, we value character as much as competence. We look for people who are:
Hungry ¿ eager to learn, contribute and make a difference.
Humble ¿ open to feedback, willing to challenge their thinking and committed to improving.
Smart ¿ thoughtful about people,
relationships and contributing positively to a team.
We expect high standards, curiosity, courage and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement. We don't expect perfection, but we do expect a willingness to learn and grow.
In return, we want Narrarrang to be a place where staff are challenged, supported and trusted; where collaboration, feedback and professional learning are part of everyday practice; and where everyone has an opportunity to shape our school's future.
For the right person, this is an chance to do meaningful work, strengthen your practice and help build a Languages program that will grow with our school.

The Spanish Teacher will play a key role in establishing and delivering Narrarrang's Foundation¿6 Languages program from 2027.
Commencing at 0.4 FTE (two days per week), the position is intended to increase as our school and enrolments grow.
The successful applicant will develop and deliver a coherent, sequential Spanish curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum F¿10 Version 2.0 and informed by evidence about how learners acquire, retain and apply knowledge.
Our school-wide instructional model emphasises explicit teaching, modelling, guided practice, checks for understanding, feedback and independent application.
We are seeking a teacher who can apply these principles to language learning while creating purposeful opportunities for listening, speaking, reading, writing and authentic communication.
We particularly value an understanding of how language proficiency develops over time, balancing engaging learning experiences with systematic teaching, practice and review to support sustained progress.
Working collaboratively with school leaders and colleagues, the successful applicant will help establish the program's curriculum, assessment practices, resources and opportunities for meaningful cultural engagement.
This is an prospect to contribute to curriculum development from the beginning, supported by a collaborative professional culture, a explicit instructional model and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
