Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for thousands of people who rely on our person-centred support.

As our Family Visit Worker, you'll play an important role in helping children and young people in foster care maintain meaningful connections with their families. Through safe, supervised family visits, you'll create opportunities for children and families to spend time together while ensuring the safety, wellbeing and individual needs of each child remain at the centre of everything you do. Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don't just talk about values – we live them.

Your opportunity

- Facilitate and fully supervise family visits, ensuring a protected, supportive and child-focused environment.
- Safely transport children and young people to and from scheduled family visits.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, birth families, foster carers and relevant stakeholders.
- Observe family interactions, assess potential safety concerns and intervene appropriately when required.
- Prepare timely, accurate and unbiased reports of family visits, communicating any concerns or follow‑up matters to the relevant Case Manager.
- Provide transport to children and support work as appropriate.

What you’ll bring

You're a compassionate, resilient and emotionally mature professional who understands the importance of family connections in a child's life.

You'll bring strong observational skills, sound judgement and the confidence to remain calm and respond appropriately in challenging or unexpected situations. You also understand that family visits can be emotionally complex and require sensitivity, patience and the ability to communicate respectfully with everyone involved.

What's required

- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Child Welfare or Community Services, or currently studying towards one of these qualifications.
- Knowledge of the child protection system, children' developmental needs, attachment and developmental trauma.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and positive relationships with children and families.
- Strong observational, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, factual and unbiased reports.
- An unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence and confidence transporting children across Sydney.

What's preferred

- Experience working with children, young people or families in foster care, child protection or community services.
- Experience facilitating or supervising family contact visits.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and child-centred approaches to working with vulnerable children and families.
