Funeral Service Concierge / Family Care Brisbane | Casual, Part-Time & Full-Time Opportunities

Funeral service may not be an industry you’ve ever considered. Many of our best people didn’t either, until they found work that gave them a real sense of purpose.

At K.M. Smith Funeral Directors, we’re looking for driven, capable people who take pride in doing things well. You don’t need funeral industry experience. You do need a strong work ethic, high personal standards and a genuine commitment to exceptional service.

Our Concierge / Family Care team supports families from their first phone call through to the day of the service. They make sure every detail is organised behind the scenes and that everything comes together seamlessly on the day.

The Role This is a varied, hands-on role that may include:

Supporting families by phone and in person with warmth and professionalism

Recording and managing information in our Client Management System

Coordinating with celebrants, clergy, cemeteries, crematoriums and service providers

Following workflows and meeting deadlines so nothing is missed

Preparing chapels, venues, vehicles and equipment

Leading and supporting funeral services on the day

We’re offering casual, part time and full-time positions. Some people join us to build a long-term career, others bring years of experience into a role that fits their life.

You might be returning after a break from the workforce,

About You You will:

Be motivated, purposeful and strive for excellence in everything you do

Genuinely enjoy people and have a warm, professional manner, including on the phone

Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

Be confident with computers and have a solid understanding of a CRM or similar system

Manage your time well, work to deadlines and juggle a variety of tasks

Stay calm, organised and discreet in sensitive situations

Be reliable, punctual and a genuine team player

Respect different cultures, traditions and beliefs

Be physically fit for the practical side of the role

Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence

Experience in hospitality, customer service, administration, healthcare, aged care or another people-focused field would be highly regarded.
