We're looking for a Full Time Food & Beverage Team Leader to join our crew at Blacksmith Bar & Grill, our signature restaurant and bar in the heart of Melbourne CBD.

From a relaxed lunch to a buzzing dinner service, a well‑made cocktail at the bar or a busy conference or special event, you'll help bring it all together. You'll be a hands‑on leader on the floor, keeping service flowing, supporting your teammates and making sure our guests feel right at home.

A little more about the role

No two days are quite the same, and that's part of the fun You'll be right in the middle of our Food & Beverage operation, helping bring restaurant, bar and event service to life.

- Lead the way: Coordinate day-to-day service across Blacksmith Bar & Grill, including lunch and dinner operations.

- Keep service flowing: Allocate tasks, guide the team during service and make sure our guests receive warm, attentive and efficient service.

- Bring the bar to life: Support bar operations and help create a welcoming atmosphere with great drinks and genuine hospitality.

- Make events happen: Help coordinate food and beverage service for meetings,



conferences, private functions and events, from setup through to pack‑down.

- Be there for your team: Lead by example, lend a hand during busy periods and help new team members feel confident and supported.

- Create memorable moments: Connect with guests, respond to feedback and find thoughtful solutions when things don't go to plan.

- Look after the details: Assist with stock control, cash handling, opening and closing procedures and keeping our outlets looking their best.

- Work as one team: Communicate with the kitchen and other hotel departments to keep everything running smoothly.

- Finish on a high: Complete end‑of-service and closing procedures, ensuring the restaurant and bar are ready for the next day.

- Keep things on track: Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager and wider leadership team to maintain service standards and support daily operational goals.

We'd love someone who brings a little personality to the role and enjoys making hospitality feel effortless.

You'll ideally have:

- Previous experience in Food & Beverage, with some experience leading a team in a restaurant, bar, hotel or busy hospitality venue.

- A genuine love for hospitality and making people feel welcome.





- The confidence to lead a service, organise tasks and keep the team moving when things get busy.

- A hands‑on approach — you're happy to jump in, lead by example and lend a hand wherever needed.

- Strong communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude.

- The ability to handle guest feedback professionally and find solutions with a smile.

- Good attention to detail and an understanding of service standards, stock control and closing procedures.

- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.

- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays, with availability to work late shifts through to closing.

- A willingness to learn, share ideas and grow your leadership skills.
