Associate Adviser
About Us
Best Life Financial Planning is a family‑run advice practice established in Caboolture to help everyday Australians make confident financial decisions and live the life that matters to them.
Our clients are generally local individuals and families preparing for, or living through, retirement. We take the time to understand the whole person, not just their super balance, including their family, lifestyle, cash flow, concerns and plans for the future. Our advice covers everything from superannuation and retirement planning to investments, personal insurance, and Centrelink support.
Currently, we have two Advisers, two Financial Planning Assistants, and an Office Manager. We are looking for a reliable Associate Adviserwho is eager to grow professionally. This is an office‑based role at our Caboolture practice. Being together in the office is important during the development and Professional Year stages because it allows for day‑to‑day mentoring, exposure to client conversations and immediate support. Applicants should live within a practical commuting distance of Caboolture or be prepared to relocate before commencing.
Why Join Us
- A genuine pathway to advice: This is not a permanently administrative position. After learning our clients and processes, you will commence or continue your Professional Year,
progressively participate in meetings and work towards becoming the third Adviser in the practice.
- Hands‑on mentoring: You will work closely with experienced Advisers on strategy, file notes, client conversations, advice preparation and implementation.
- Meaningful client relationships: Our work is personal. You will help clients make decisions about retirement, Centrelink, superannuation, insurance, estate‑planning considerations and the lifestyle they want to enjoy.
- A team where your work matters: In a small practice, good ideas and reliable follow‑through are noticed. We encourage questions, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Professional standards without corporate formality: We take compliance, accuracy and client outcomes seriously, while remaining approachable, practical and down to earth.
What You’ll Do
Initially, you’ll:
- learn our advice philosophy, client base, systems and processes
- prepare for appointments and complete post‑meeting work
- draft detailed file notes and update client records
- undertake product and strategy research using Xplan, WealthSolver, Risk Researcher and XTools+
- assist with Statements of Advice, Records of Advice and implementation
- communicate with clients, funds, insurers and other service providers
- help maintain accurate and compliant client files.
As you develop and progress through your Skilled Year, you will:
- participate more actively in client meetings
- conduct regular client check‑in calls
- help clarify client goals and financial circumstances
- contribute to strategy development and cash‑flow modelling
- explain agreed recommendations under supervision
- progressively take responsibility for suitable client relationships
- work towards becoming the practice’s third Financial Adviser.
About You
You are likely to succeed in this role if you:
- have at least two years’ experience in financial planning or advice support
- have completed, or are close to completing, the approved education requirements needed to commence your Professional Year
- care about clients and can explain financial concepts in straightforward, respectful language
- take ownership of tasks and follow them through without needing repeated reminders
- produce accurate file notes and are comfortable working within documented processes
- are organised to manage several client matters at different stages
- are comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback and learning from mistakes
- enjoy working closely with a small team and are willing to assist outside your immediate task list when necessary
- want to become a capable, trusted Financial Adviser, rather than simply obtain an Adviser title
