ABOUT THE ROLE
Backam Group is currently seeking a Trade Qualified Bricklayers for an ongoing opportunity based in Tomago, NSW. Working within a major industrial facility, you will be responsible for refractory brick installation, maintenance, and repair works associated with aluminium smelter operations. This is a casual position with full-time hours, offering a genuine opportunity to transition into permanent employment directly with the client after 3-6 months. ?

- Friday | 5:00am Start | 8-10 Hour Days ? Overtime: Saturday work available as required ? Pay Rate: $64.51 per hour casual + penalty rates ? Start: ASAP ##
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Refractory bricklaying within an industrial environment
- Installation of refractory bricks in aluminium smelter pots
- Maintenance and repair of refractory linings
- Mixing refractory mud and materials
- Cutting, shaping, and fitting refractory bricks
- Working from drawings and specifications
- Following all site safety and quality requirements
- Supporting shutdown and maintenance activities ## ABOUT YOU You are a qualified bricklayer who takes pride in producing quality work, working safely, and contributing to a productive team environment. To be considered for this role, you must have: ✅ Certificate III in Bricklaying & Blocklaying
- Essential ✅ Minimum 5 years of bricklaying experience
- Essential ✅ Refractory Bricklaying experience highly regarded but not required ✅ Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport ✅ Strong commitment to workplace safety ✅ Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive manual tasks ✅ Ability to work overtime when required ## You Must Also Be Able To Pass ✔ Pre-employment Medical ✔ Drug & Alcohol Screening ✔ Police Check ## WHAT'S ON OFFER ✅ $64.51/hr casual + penalty rates ✅ Full-time Monday-Friday roster ✅ 5:00am starts with 8-10 hour days ✅ Saturday overtime opportunities ✅ Temp-to-perm pathway after 3-6 months ✅ Work with a major industrial client ✅ Long-term career opportunity ✅ Supportive and safety-focused team setting ##
