Operations Manager – Fresh Meal Delivery *Full-time

* About A Life Plus A Life Plus is a Sydney-based, founder-led fresh meal delivery business. We cook and ship around 1,200 parcels a week nationally across Keto, High Protein, Gluten Free, NDIS, Carnivore and other diet lines. We're growing, we're moving into a much larger production facility, and we're building a small team of senior owners who each run one number. The role This role is our founder's ops hat, handed to someone who'll wear it full-time. Your job comes down to four questions you answer every week: 1. How do we lower the cost of every order? 2. How do we cut the error rate? 3. What can we automate? 4. How do we make everything more accurate, from orders and stock to costings and deliveries? You'll start by automating the repetitive work in our customer service and admin teams, so the role starts paying for itself early. From there, you'll take on cost and accuracy across procurement, fulfilment and delivery. This is a hands-on role. You set the plan and then build it yourself. There's no ops department under you yet. As the business grows, you'll hire and lead one. What you'll own
- Cost per order: this is your number. It covers everything it takes to get a meal to a customer: ingredients, packaging, labour, delivery and overhead. You'll track it weekly, find the biggest leaks and close them.
- Procurement and costing: build accurate recipe and ingredient costings, benchmark supplier pricing, negotiate better terms and volumes across meat, veg, dry goods and packaging, and make sure we're never paying more than we should.
- Error reduction: run our error log as an improvement system. Rank error types by volume and dollar cost, find the root cause, test a fix, and prove the error stopped coming back. Order accuracy,



food integrity and packaging damage come first.
- Automation: map the manual workflows in customer service and admin (order changes, delivery updates, refunds and credits, supplier and courier follow-ups), then automate them with Shopify, Google Workspace, Zapier/Make and AI tools.
- Delivery and couriers: manage our courier partners, delivery schedules, linehaul timing and delivery errors, and push for better service at a lower cost per parcel.
- Accuracy and data: stock counts, costings, order data and reporting you can trust, so decisions are made on real numbers.
- Facility: support our move to a larger site, including fit-out, layout and workflow, so we can run at several times our current volume. About you
- 10–15+ years in operations, procurement or fulfilment, ideally in food manufacturing, e-commerce or D2C
- You've cut real costs before and can show the before-and-after numbers
- You've automated business processes yourself, not only scoped them for someone else
- You're strong with costings and spreadsheets, and you run your area off weekly metrics
- You're confident calling suppliers, couriers and customers to get to the root of a problem
- You'd rather be on the floor or on the phone than in meetings
- You're happy to work on-site across our office and production facility
