About the role
Terminal Velocity is seeking an experienced EFTPOS Field Service Technician to join our dynamic service team. This is a contract position based i offering you the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment maintaining and supporting electronic payment systems across a diverse client base. As an EFTPOS Field Service Technician, you will be the front line of our customer support, ensuring that payment terminals operate smoothly and efficiently for businesses throughout the region. This role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring minimal disruption to our clients' operations. What you'll be doing
- Installing, configuring and testing EFTPOS terminals and related payment processing equipment at client location's
- Performing routine maintenance and preventative servicing on EFTPOS terminals to ensure optimal performance
- Providing technical support to end users, offering clear guidance on terminal operation and resolving connectivity issues
- Responding to service calls promptly and professionally, managing field schedules across the Melbourne metropolitan area
- Documenting all service activities, repairs and maintenance work in accurate and timely reports
- Liaising with customers to understand their requirements and ensuring service delivery meets expectations
- Keeping up to date with current EFTPOS technology, payment systems and industry standards
- Maintaining stock of replacement parts and equipment, ensuring availability for field service calls What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an EFTPOS technician,



field service engineer or similar technical support role in the payments or retail technology sector
- Strong technical knowledge of EFTPOS systems, payment terminals, PIN pads and related payment processing equipment
- Competency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with electronic payment systems
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to technical challenges
- Valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport, as this role requires extensive travel across Melbourne
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customers
- Customer service experience with a focus on delivering professional and courteous support
- Ability to work independently in the field whilst maintaining communication with the office team
- Flexibility to respond to urgent service calls and manage changing priorities throughout the day
- Experience with payment gateway systems or point-of-sale integration (advantageous)
- Able to work after hours on a rotating schedule.
