Be part of the team delivering some of Australia's most influential higher education events. Universities Australia is the peak body for Australia's universities, representing the sector at a national level and bringing together leaders, decision-makers and industry influencers through a portfolio of high-profile events, conferences and summits. As a result of continued growth and an exciting events calendar ahead, Universities Australia is seeking an Event Coordinator to join its team in Canberra. This is more than a traditional events role. You'll play a key role in delivering conferences, exhibitions, stakeholder forums and national summits attended by university leaders, government representatives, industry partners and senior executives from across Australia. Working closely with the Events Manager, you'll help bring complex events to life while ensuring every detail is delivered professionally and seamlessly. This role is ideal for someone who loves the energy of event delivery and enjoys seeing months of planning come together in a successful event experience. You'll coordinate event logistics, stakeholder communications, registrations, suppliers and onsite delivery while supporting the execution of some of the sector's most significant events. We're looking for someone who already has experience in events and understands what it takes to make an event successful. You might come from a conference, exhibition, corporate events or association background. Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership, thinks ahead, remains calm under pressure and enjoys solving problems before they become bigger issues.
You'll be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and comfortable communicating with senior leaders, executives and sponsors. You'll bring sound judgement, strong organisational skills and a willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the wider team. Experience using event management platforms such as Swoogo will be highly regarded, although candidates with experience across other event management systems are encouraged to apply. What truly sets this opportunity apart is the exposure and development on offer. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, support nationally significant events and gain access to stakeholders who shape the future of Australia's higher education sector. You'll also join an organisation known for its collaborative culture, professional environment and long-term career opportunities. Alongside the opportunity to work on nationally significant events, Universities Australia offers a competitive salary package, generous superannuation contributions and flexibility to structure your remuneration in a way that best suits your personal circumstances. Whether you're focused on maximising your superannuation or increasing your take-home salary, flexible contribution options provide a level of choice rarely offered in the private sector. The role also offers a 35-hour working week, a Christmas shutdown period and genuine opportunities for career progression, succession planning and professional development. If you're an organised, proactive and relationship-focused Event Coordinator ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you. Apply Now.
