About the role
Richers Transport Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Local HR Driver to join our team in Hervey Bay, Queensland. This is a full-time position based from our Hervey Bay depot, offering the opportunity to work within a agile road transport operation. As a Local HR Driver, you will be responsible for operating heavy rigid vehicles on local routes, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of goods whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Key responsibilities

- Operate heavy rigid vehicles safely and efficiently on local routes within the Hervey Bay region
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition
- Load, secure and unload cargo according to weight distribution and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation in compliance with transport regulations
- Deliver goods to customers in a timely manner whilst maintaining a professional attitude and excellent customer service
- Adhere to all road traffic laws, speed limits and fatigue management regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress, delays and vehicle issues
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues to management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements on site and during transportation What we're looking for




- Current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence issued in Australia
- Forklift Licence, highly recommended
- You must be fit and active as this role involves a lot of manual handing
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work
- Knowledge of the Hervey Bay region and surrounding local routes (preferred)
