At HCLTech, professionals collaborate across business and technology teams to solve complex challenges and deliver outcomes for clients. This chance is part of a programme focused on improving intraday liquidity reporting and supporting relevant Australian prudential obligations.
About The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in the delivery of the IDL Reporting Uplift programme, supporting compliance with APRA APS 210 obligations. You will work across Treasury, Risk, Operations, Finance and Technology to analyse complex financial data, clarify business and data needs, assess data quality and support the delivery of reliable regulatory and management reporting.
You will translate regulatory and business requirements into practical data and reporting specifications, document source-to-target mappings and data lineage, and contribute to testing from initial validation through to go-live. The role requires clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders, as well as a structured approach to resolving data and reconciliation issues.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, document and validate business, functional and data requirements, translating regulatory obligations into actionable specifications.
- Analyse cash, liquidity, payment and settlement data across multiple source systems.
- Document data lineage, source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries and transformation requirements.
- Conduct data profiling and quality assessments; identify gaps,
anomalies and reconciliation issues, and define controls or remediation needs.
- Support reconciliation of liquidity positions, balances, transactions and intraday metrics.
- Contribute to APS 210 reporting requirements, including calculations and outputs for Largest Negative Net Cumulative Position (LNNCP), intraday liquidity utilisation, payment inflows and outflows, settlement obligations, and forecast-versus-actual liquidity positions.
- Maintain traceability between regulatory obligations, business needs, data specifications and reporting outputs.
- Develop test scenarios and support system integration testing, user acceptance testing and parallel runs.
- Validate reporting calculations and dashboard outputs, support defect triage, and assist with go-live readiness and post-implementation checks.
- Facilitate workshops and communicate findings, risks and recommendations to Treasury, Markets Risk, Finance, Operations, Data Engineering, Reporting teams, vendors and delivery partners.
- Prepare deliverables such as requirements documents, functional and data specifications, mapping documents, validation reports, test traceability matrices, dashboard requirements and issue analysis.
Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills and demonstrated capability analysing large, complex financial datasets.
- Experience with data profiling, reconciliation, data quality assessment, data lineage and source-to-target mapping.
- Background in Treasury, Finance, Risk or Regulatory Reporting within banking or financial services.
- Understanding of liquidity and cash management, payment and settlement processes, and regulatory reporting.
- Knowledge of APRA, Basel or prudential reporting requirements is advantageous.
- Experience with intraday liquidity or liquidity risk initiatives is preferred. Familiarity with platforms such as Murex, RITS, GPP, NPP or Austraclear, and data or ETL platforms such as Ab Initio, is also beneficial.
- Strong documentation, analytical, facilitation and stakeholder communication skills.
Benefits Join a cooperative, multidisciplinary programme with the opportunity to build experience in liquidity reporting, regulatory data and financial services transformation. You will work with stakeholders across business and technology, contribute to meaningful delivery outcomes and develop your expertise through complex analytical work.
