Role Description The Ford Diagnostic Technician is a full-time, on-site role located at Emerald Ford in Emerald, QLD. This position is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics on Ford vehicles using specialized tools, software, and technical resources. Day-to-day tasks include identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing accurate repair recommendations, and carrying out vehicle maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer standards.

The technician will document work performed, collaborate with service advisors and other team members, and ensure all vehicles are returned to customers in secure, reliable condition.



This role also involves communicating clearly with customers and colleagues, contributing to a positive service experience, and following safety and quality procedures in the workshop.

Qualifications

- Strong technical skills in vehicle diagnostics, including the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues in Ford vehicles.
- Demonstrated experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, including routine servicing, inspections, and use of diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to explain findings, repair options, and timelines in a clear, respectful manner.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Relevant automotive trade qualification or certification (e.g., automotive technician/mechanic), with Ford brand experience considered an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, follow workshop procedures, and manage time efficiently in a busy service department.
- Valid driver’s license and the capability to safely operate a range of vehicles.
