Put your membership expertise to work for an organisation with purpose

At RSL NSW, membership is about more than maintaining a database. It is about creating a positive, responsive experience for veterans, their families and the volunteer-led sub-Branches that support communities across NSW.

We are looking for an experienced Membership & Engagement Coordinator who combines strong membership administration skills with great relationship management, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to service.

About RSL NSW

RSL NSW forms part of Australia's largest ex-service organisation and has supported veterans and their families since 1917. Today, we are powered by 32,000 members and a network of more than 300 volunteer-led sub-Branches, supported by our professional team at ANZAC House in Sydney.

Our mission is to Connect, Commemorate and Advocate, ensuring veterans and their families across NSW are supported, honoured and represented.

RSL NSW and its sub-Branches are separate from RSL Clubs. We do not operate clubs or poker machines. We are a veteran-friendly employer and recognise the value of skills and experience gained through military service.

About the role

Reporting to the Member Support Manager, you will play an important role in delivering a seamless membership experience and supporting the attraction, engagement and retention of RSL NSW members.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining membership operations, member service, CRM administration, communications and engagement.

You will be a trusted point of contact for members and sub-Branches, ensuring membership processes run smoothly, records are accurate and people receive responsive, practical support. You will also contribute to communications, campaigns and initiatives designed to strengthen member engagement and continually improve the member experience.

The role is based at ANZAC House in the Sydney CBD, with a hybrid working arrangement of three days in the office and two days working from home.

What you'll be doing

- Coordinate membership applications, renewals, transfers, reinstatements and member record updates using Dynamics 365.

- Provide responsive, professional support to members and RSL NSW sub-Branches.

- Maintain accurate membership records, support data quality and contribute to regular reporting.

- Coordinate membership cards, badges, welcome packs and other member materials.

- Support member communications, renewal reminders, campaigns and engagement activities.

- Prepare membership reports and help identify trends and opportunities to improve the member experience.

- Provide practical guidance to sub-Branches using membership systems and processes.

- Work collaboratively across RSL NSW to improve membership services, communications and ways of working.

- Contribute to projects and initiatives that strengthen member engagement and retention.

About you

You understand that great membership experiences are built through both good systems and genuine human connection.

You are organised, approachable and confident dealing with a broad range of people. You enjoy solving problems, take pride in getting the details right and take initiative when you see an opportunity to improve a process or member experience.

You will bring

- Demonstrated experience in membership administration or coordination, customer service, stakeholder coordination or a similar role.

- Robust organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

- Confidence using databases, CRM platforms or similar systems.

- A warm, professional and responsive approach to member service.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- The ability to manage competing priorities and follow matters through to completion.

- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and an interest in continuous improvement.

- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

Experience in a member-based, not-for-profit, community or volunteer-supported organisation will be highly regarded, as will experience with member communications, events or engagement activities.

Why join RSL NSW?

If you already know membership and are looking for a role where you can have broader impact, this is an opportunity to bring your experience to an organisation with a strong community purpose.

You will work across membership operations and engagement, collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and help create a positive experience for RSL NSW members and volunteer-led sub-Branches across NSW.

RSL NSW is a veteran-friendly employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that supports veterans and members of the defence community.
