Diesel Mechanics – Prime Movers | Day & Afternoon Shifts Queensland | Temp-to-Perm Opportunities | Shift Loadings Applicable TRS Resourcing is seeking trade-qualified Diesel Mechanics / Heavy Vehicle Mechanics for temp-to-perm opportunities supporting an established transport operator’s Queensland workshop. Day and afternoon shift patterns are available, with applicable shift loading paid on top of the base rate for afternoon shift. These roles suit experienced mechanics who enjoy working on prime movers and heavy commercial vehicles and are looking for ongoing workshop employment with a pathway to a permanent position. - Supportive and experienced workshop team The Role Working within an experienced maintenance team, your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Repairing engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension and driveline components
- Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying required repairs
- Completing general mechanical repairs and component replacement
- Maintaining safe work practices and high standards of workmanship
- Accurately recording servicing, maintenance and repair work About You To be considered, you will need:
- An Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
- Robust hands-on experience servicing and repairing prime movers and heavy vehicles
- Sound diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience across a range of heavy vehicle systems
- The ability to work independently and within a workshop team
- A solid commitment to safety, reliability and quality workmanship
- Availability for a day or afternoon shift pattern You must also provide:
