About the role
Zoom Automotive Pty Ltd is seeking a Full Qualified Mechanic/Sales Advisor to join our team in Riverstone, NSW. This is a full-time position that combines technical expertise with customer-facing sales responsibilities. In this unique dual role, you will leverage your automotive knowledge to deliver exceptional service whilst building strong relationships with customers and driving sales opportunities. This position is integral to our business operations, bridging the gap between our workshop and customer experience to ensure both technical excellence and commercial success.
Key responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, repairs and maintenance services in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Provide accurate and transparent quotations to customers for mechanical work and services
- Advise customers on vehicle repairs, maintenance schedules and recommended services with technical expertise
- Build and maintain solid customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Identify and communicate potential upselling opportunities for additional services or products
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and within agreed timeframes
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, services and customer interactions
- Contribute to a safe and organised workshop environment by following health and safety procedures
- Provide customers with professional advice on vehicle condition and necessary repairs in a clear and accessible manner What we're looking for
- Full mechanical qualifications and current appropriate trade certification (apprenticeship completion or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a qualified mechanic with a strong track record in vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Demonstrable experience in a customer-facing or sales environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Sound knowledge of modern vehicle systems, diagnostics tools and repair techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid driver's licence
- Proven ability to identify and capitalise on sales opportunities whilst maintaining customer satisfaction
- Experience with workshop management systems or point of sale software is desirable
