About the role
This is a customer-facing position in a fish and chips takeaway, where you will greet customers, take orders, prepare and cook food, handle payments, and maintain food safety and hygiene standards. You will work efficiently during busy periods and assist with general duties across the kitchen and customer areas.

Key responsibilities

- Greet customers, take orders and provide friendly customer service
- Operate the POS system and handle cash and EFTPOS payments
- Prepare and fry fish, chips and other takeaway foods
- Package orders accurately and ensure food is presented properly
- Maintain food quality, hygiene and food safety standards
- Clean kitchen equipment, benches, floors and customer areas
- Restock ingredients, packaging and other supplies as required
- Work efficiently during busy periods and assist with general duties About you

- Great communication and able to work within a team
- Punctual, reliable and ready to work scheduled shifts
- Able to work quickly and accurately with a sense of urgency during busy periods
- Ability to follow instructions,



recipes and food safety procedures
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform kitchen duties
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Availability to work the required roster (mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends if applicable)
- Previous experience in a fish and chips, takeaway or hospitality environment is an advantage, but not essential if you are willing to learn What Happens Next?
