About Us ?

Bridgit is a leading non-bank lender transforming the way Australians access property equity. Purpose-built to make property transactions faster and easier, we pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later solution - empowering homeowners to unlock their property equity and move on their terms. With a simple digital application, fast approvals, and flexible loan options, we're making property finance seamless and stress-free.

We're now five years old and making huge strides. We've accredited over three-quarters of Australia's broker network, and launched white label solutions with Australia's largest aggregators - Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group - and we're just getting started.

Our momentum has been recognised with awards including Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards, the 2025 Finder People's Choice Award for Lending Innovation, Deloitte's Tech Quick 50 2025, and a place among LinkedIn's Top 20 Startups in Australia 2025 & 2026.

The Difference You'll Make

Settlement is the moment a customer finally gets their loan, and the moment our brokers decide whether to send us their next deal. You'll lead the team that makes that moment happen on time, every time.

You'll own each loan from formal approval through settlement and on to discharge.

We move fast: discharge can follow settlement by as little as a week. That means a team that clears conditions and books settlements, a pipeline that Distribution and Finance can rely on each month, and controls that stand up to audit. You'll also work closely with your manager to find and fix what slows us down, from handoffs with Credit to how we use our loan origination system.

What You'll Do

Run a settlements pipeline people can rely on

- Own every loan end to end, from formal approval through funding, settlement and discharge.
- Allocate work and set daily priorities so the team hits monthly volumes without last-minute scrambles.
- Make sure conditions are cleared, loan and security documents are correct, and settlement is booked with solicitors, conveyancers and other lenders.
- Manage discharges when loans repay, often within a week of settlement, including payout figures,

discharge documents and release of security.
- Sign off funding and disbursements, reconcile settlement and discharge funds, and check mortgages and titles are registered post-settlement.
- Be the escalation point for failed or delayed settlements and discharges, disputes and exceptions, and resolve them fast.

Lead and grow the team

- Coach a team of Settlement Officers to work accurately and own their files.
- Set clear expectations, run regular one-on-ones and performance reviews, and deal with underperformance early.
- Build the team's capability through training, quality checks and cross-skilling so no process depends on one person.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy and customer-first outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

- Provide the key stakeholders a reliable monthly forecast of settlements and discharges, and flag slippage before it happens.
- Keep brokers informed so they can keep their customers informed.
- Work with Credit on clean handov

Manage Risk and Compliance

- Ensure all settlement activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards (NCCP, AML/CTF, privacy, responsible lending and our internal policies).
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to minimize risks associated with financial transactions and data management, including identify verification, documents and data checks and AML checks on payment details
- Stay updated on changes in property law and settlement procedures.
- Log errors, breaches and near misses, find root causes, and see corrective actions through.

Improve How We Work

- Report weekly on volumes, turnaround times, failed settlements and errors, and what you're doing about them.

- Work with your manager to find and fix bottlenecks in processes, handoffs and systems, including automation.

What We Are Looking For

- Proven experience in a senior role managing property settlements, ideally within a financial institution, panel solicitor or related industry.
- Hands-on experience across the full settlement and discharge lifecycle, ideally at a fast-moving lender.
- A record of improving a process and proving it with numbers.
- The calm to handle month-end volumes and failed settlements while keeping your team steady.
- Clear, direct communication with brokers, solicitors and senior internal stakeholders.
- Experience leading a settlements team, including coaching people to improve and dealing with underperformance directly
