Your new role As a Senior Claims Assessor, you will manage complex travel insurance claims while acting as a key technical resource for the broader claims team. You will assess high-value and complex matters, provide guidance to less experienced assessors, and support quality decision-making across the function.

Key responsibilities
include:
- Managing complex travel insurance claims from lodgement through to resolution
- Assessing policy coverage and interpreting policy wordings
- Reviewing medical, financial and travel-related documentation
- Handling escalated and higher-risk claims matters, as well as supporting IDR and complaints
- Assisting with AFCA-related responses and documentation
- Coaching and mentoring junior assessors
- Supporting training and capability development initiatives




- Working closely with emergency assistance and external service providers
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the claims team

What you'll need
to succeed To be successful, you will have:
- 2+ years' claims assessment experience, with at least 1 of these in travel insurance
- Solid policy interpretation and decision-making capability
- Exposure to complex claims or escalated matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to mentor and support less experienced team members What you'll get in return
