The role

Reporting to the Head of Collections, you’ll manage a portfolio of delinquent commercial accounts day to day while leading the team that supports it. You’ll take ownership of complex files, from early arrears through to legal recovery, insolvency and restructuring outcomes, using your judgement to maximise realisations and minimise losses.

What you’ll be doing

- Managing the 31+ day arrears portfolio, including security assessment, realisation strategy, legal recoveries and insolvency matters
- Handling recoveries through formal insolvency and restructuring processes, working closely with insolvency practitioners, administrators and liquidators
- Negotiating payment plans, settlements and workout arrangements
- Referring matters for enforcement and driving case-specific strategies through to remediation or realisation
- Leading,



monitoring and upskilling Collections & Recovery Officers, ensuring SLAs and processes are met
- Handling file escalations and making sound, risk-aware decisions within the delegation framework
- Liaising with panel law firms, insolvency professionals, mercantile agents, credit insurers and internal stakeholders up to COO level
- Contributing to reporting, process improvement and implementation across the team

What you’ll bring

- 3+ years’ experience in non-bank commercial lending recoveries
- Proven, hands-on experience with insolvency and restructuring recoveries (essential)
- Strong understanding of commercial lending security structures and enforcement mechanisms
- Confident negotiator with sound commercial judgement
- Leadership or team lead experience, or a strong desire to step up
- Highly organised with excellent record keeping and CRM discipline
- Advanced Excel, plus Word, Teams and PowerPoint
- Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or Law preferred
