About the Role
The Rocklands Copper Project (Rocklands Copper Mine & Processing Plant), located 17 km west of Cloncurry in North West Queensland, is a premier copper asset within a Tier-1 mining jurisdiction. Currently transitioning from care and maintenance, the project is on track for a strategic restart in mid-to-late 2027. Beyond its primary operations, Rocklands is permitted and equipped to provide toll treatment services for third-party ore. By acting as a central processing hub for the Cloncurry and Mt Isa regions, Rocklands is uniquely positioned to unlock the future copper potential of the entire district. We are seeking a versatile and motivated Fixed Plant Fitter to join our site Maintenance team. What You’ll Do Working within the processing plant maintenance team on a 15/13 roster, the purpose of your role will be to maintain plant and critical infrastructure equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This role will initially be dayshift only, however will transition to include nightshift as the Rockland restart progresses.

Key Responsibilities




- Complete planned, breakdown and opportune maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Installation and commissioning of plant and equipment
- Carry out inspections of plant and equipment to ensure it meets site and statutory requirements
- Complete JSA’s and other safety requirements in accordance with site procedures
- Scope repairs / rectifications and generate required work orders
- Keep accurate records of completed maintenance works
- Carry out comprehensive hand overs at the end of each swing.
- Safely and willingly step outside the traditional fitter scope to assist with variety of site tasks as required to develop broader site skills.
- Adhere strictly to site safety management systems, conduct thorough take-5s, and maintain an immaculate workshop and work area. What We Are Looking For:
- Trade Qualification: Australian Recognised Fitter Trade Certificate.
- Current Manual Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy fixed plant within mining, mineral processing or similar heavy industry.
- Experience with crushing and base metal processing equipment, including:
- Jaw and cone crushers
- SAG, Ball and Tower mills
- Process and non-process Pumps
- Apron, belt and vibrating feeders
- Vibrating screens
- Conveyor systems
- Filter presses
- Hydraulic and compressed air systems
- Ability to identify plant defects and determine practical repair requirements.




- Strong commitment to secure work practices and risk management.
- Ability to work effectively within a small, multi-disciplinary site team. Highly Desirable
- Experience with brownfield projects, plant restarts or commissioning.
- Site Safety Qualifications: S1, S2, S3 or G1, G8, G9 operational supervisor competencies are highly desirable
- Poly welding experience highly regarded
- Basic computer
