## Experienced Painter – Commercial Painting & Maintenance If you’re an experienced painter who is particular about preparation, detail and finish, we want to hear from you. Effective Building Group (EBG) is a self-delivering, multi-trade building and maintenance contractor working across commercial, government and education facilities throughout Perth. Our Painting Team works in environments where quality, cleanliness, safety and professional presentation matter. We’re looking for an experienced Painter who understands that a professional painting job is about much more than getting paint on the wall. You should take pride in proper preparation, clean lines, consistent finishes and leaving the work area as clean as you found it. You’ll also need to be organised, communicate well and be comfortable working around clients, staff and the public. Commercial painting experience is highly regarded. ##
About the Role
You’ll work as part of EBG’s in-house Painting Team across a variety of commercial and government sites, including schools, offices, public facilities and operational buildings. Your work will include:
- Internal and external painting
- Commercial repainting and maintenance programs
- Detailed surface preparation and repairs
- Brush, roller and other appropriate coating applications
- Doors, frames, trims and detailed finishing
- Responsive maintenance and touch-up works
- Refurbishment and remedial painting
- Working safely and professionally within occupied and live environments
- Maintaining clean, organised work areas throughout the job ## What We're Looking For This role is aimed at an experienced, professional painter, not simply someone who holds the qualification. We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong painting and surface-preparation skills
- Is detail-oriented and particular about finish quality
- Works cleanly and protects surrounding surfaces properly
- Understands the importance of preparation before painting
- Can work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Is organised with materials, equipment and site setup
- Takes safety seriously and follows site requirements
- Can assess their work and identify defects before calling a job complete
- Communicates professionally with supervisors, clients and other trades
- Can work independently without needing constant supervision
- Takes ownership of their work from preparation through to final clean-up
- Presents professionally when working in client-facing environments ## Requirements
- Certificate III in Painting & Decorating – essential
- White Card – essential
- Current Driver's Licence – essential
- National Police Clearance or ability to obtain one
- Commercial painting experience – highly regarded
- Experience working in schools, government facilities or occupied buildings – advantageous
- Working at Heights and EWP – advantageous ## Why Join EBG?
- $40–$50/hr + Super, depending on experience and capability
- Weekly pay
- Company vehicle and fuel card for work use
- Quality equipment, uniforms and PPE
- Varied commercial and government work
- Established in-house Painting Team
- Professional systems and support
- Long-term development opportunities
- A company that values quality workmanship, accountability and skilled presentation ## Is This You? We’re not looking for someone who is happy with “good enough.” We want a painter who notices the small things — preparation, straight lines, coverage, finish, protection, cleanliness and presentation. Someone who can be trusted on a client’s site to work safely, keep their area clean and deliver a professional result without needing to be chased. If that sounds like the standard you already hold yourself to, we’d like to hear from you.
