The Maintenance & Grounds Officer is responsible for delivering the set actions as instruction by the Maintenance Coordinator. This role ensures that all maintenance and grounds actions are attended and completed in a timely manner. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Coordinator on property maintenance.
- Execute work according to the maintenance plan.
- Provide professional and effective property maintenance services.
- Address unexpected repairs promptly.
- Gather feedback to identify problems and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a secure setting for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Test and calibrate equipment as per the maintenance schedule.
- Maintain Torbay grounds per Environmental Services standards.
- Care for garden beds: spraying, pruning, watering, sweeping,



and removing clippings.
- Maintain grassed areas: mowing, edging, weeding, and mulching.
- Conduct general yard clearing and rubbish removal.
- Keep pathways and external stairs clean and safe.
- Water trees and garden beds as needed.
- Ensure driveways are in good condition.
- Equipment
- Store all equipment and machinery safely.
- Service equipment per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Use equipment safely and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Resident Care
- Provide efficient, friendly, and professional service to residents.
- Address resident requests promptly.
- Maintain positive interactions with residents and stakeholders.
- Keep resident information confidential.

Requirements:
- Valid and current Police Certificate.
- COVID-19 vaccinations x 2 and current flu vaccination highly recommended.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within an Aged Care Facility.
- Demonstrated experience in general repairs and maintenance.
- An understanding of the Australian Quality Standards in Aged Care.
- The ability to comply with the requirements of WHS and safe work practises and related procedures.
- Well-developed written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to liaise and work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work as part of a small team.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Work cooperatively with the team and as directed by the Hotel Services Manager.
