General Practitioners (VR GP) – Full-Time or Part-Time
Toowoomba & Warwick | Contractor Opportunities
Real Medicine. Quality Care. Time for Your Patients.
At Carbal, we believe great general practice is about more than the number of patients you see each day. It's about taking the time to listen, understand, diagnose, treat and build relationships that make a genuine difference.
We're looking for Vocationally Registered General Practitioners (VR GPs) who share that philosophy — clinicians who value comprehensive, continuity-based medicine and want to practise in an environment where quality care comes first.
With established patient demand, strong multidisciplinary support and highly attractive contractor remuneration, Carbal offers the opportunity to practise medicine the way it should be practised.
- Full-time or part-time contractor opportunities – we're flexible
- Highly attractive, high-percentage billings
- Introductory income guarantees available for suitable candidates
- Monday to Friday – no weekends, after-hours or on-call requirements
- Time for quality patient care – not rushed consultations
- Established patient demand and immediate clinical workload
- Experienced nursing, Aboriginal Health Worker and Allied Health support
- Opportunities for GP Registrar supervision and mentoring
- Meaningful clinical work with genuine community impact
Whether you're looking to practise two or three days a week or take on a full-time patient caseload, we'd welcome a conversation about an arrangement that suits your professional and personal circumstances.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
We understand that experienced GPs want more than just a busy appointment book. You want the freedom to practise good medicine, a supportive team around you and an arrangement that recognises your professional contribution.
At Carbal, we offer:
- Attractive contractor remuneration – high-percentage billings that recognise your professional contribution
- Income security while establishing – an introductory income guarantee may be negotiated for suitable candidates
- Genuine work-life balance – Monday to Friday, with no weekend, after-hours or on-call commitments
- Flexibility – full-time or part-time contractor arrangements to suit your circumstances
- Established patient demand – an existing patient base and immediate clinical workload
- Strong clinical support – work alongside experienced Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Midwives, Allied Health professionals and chronic disease teams
- Clinical autonomy – qualified independence and flexibility in managing your patients and consultations
- Professional development – opportunities for GP Registrar supervision, mentoring and ongoing learning
- Collaborative care – access to multidisciplinary services and programs that support patients beyond the consultation room
- Regional lifestyle – enjoy the benefits of living and working in Toowoomba or Warwick
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to deliver meaningful, continuity-based primary health care in an organisation where relationships with patients and community genuinely matter.
Practise Real Medicine – Not Conveyor-Belt Consultations
At Carbal, we value the quality of care you provide, not simply how many patients you see.
We don't believe in pushing GPs through a succession of short appointments just to maximise patient numbers. Our approach recognises that good medicine takes time — particularly when managing chronic disease, complex health needs and the broader factors affecting our patients' wellbeing.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Spend appropriate time with your patients rather than work to unrealistic consultation targets
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, preventative health and chronic disease management
- Build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families
- Work collaboratively with Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health professionals and other services
- Exercise your professional judgement in determining the care each patient needs
- Practise in an environment where clinical quality, continuity of care and patient outcomes matter more than appointment volume
We want our GPs to practise good medicine, feel professionally fulfilled and know that the care they provide is genuinely valued.
About the Role
As a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner, you'll provide comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and the broader community within one of Carbal's established clinics.

Our clinics provide opportunities to work across:
- General practice and comprehensive primary health care
- Chronic disease management and complex care planning
- Preventative health and health assessments
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, including 715 Health Checks
- Women's and family health
- Mental health and social and emotional wellbeing
- Multidisciplinary care planning and referrals
- Continuity of care for patients with ongoing or complex health needs
You'll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, with nursing and Aboriginal Health Worker support and access to Allied Health and community-based programs.
These are on-site contractor opportunities based at our Toowoomba or Warwick clinics.
About Our Clinics
Toowoomba – Russell Street Clinic
Carbal's Russell Street Clinic is a busy, established multidisciplinary primary health care service with multiple GPs, experienced Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and a broad range of Allied Health professionals and community health programs operating on site.

With primary care, Allied Health and community support programs working together, the clinic offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for comprehensive, coordinated patient care.
Warwick Clinic
Our Warwick Clinic provides culturally safe, community-focused primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Warwick and the Southern Downs.
The clinic offers the opportunity to practise broad-based regional general medicine while working closely with Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and Carbal's wider clinical and community services teams.
Both locations offer established patient demand, meaningful clinical work and the opportunity to develop ongoing relationships with patients and families.
You'll Be a Great Fit If You...
We're looking for experienced, patient-focused GPs who value clinical quality, professional autonomy and collaborative care.
