Etheridge Ford is seeking a full-time Spare Parts Interpreter to join our team in Ringwood, VIC. As a Spare Parts Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in our automotive spare parts operation, serving as a vital link between customers, technicians, and our inventory management systems. This position is essential to ensuring that the correct parts are identified, sourced, and delivered efficiently, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

What you’ll be doing

- Interpreting customer requests and technical specifications to accurately identify and locate the correct spare parts from our inventory system
- Liaising between customers, service technicians, and parts suppliers to ensure smooth communication and timely part delivery
- Consulting technical manuals, parts catalogues, and vehicle identification systems to cross-reference components and specifications
- Processing spare parts orders and maintaining accurate records of transactions and inventory movements
- Providing expert advice to customers and internal staff on part compatibility, specifications, and availability
- Managing enquiries regarding part numbers, specifications, and compatibility issues with professionalism and efficiency
- Assisting with inventory management and stock control procedures to ensure optimal part availability
- Contributing to a positive customer experience by delivering prompt and accurate service

What we’re looking for

- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, specifications, and Ford vehicle systems
- Proficiency in using parts identification systems, databases, and computer software relevant to automotive spare parts




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, technicians, and suppliers
- Attention to detail and accuracy in identifying and recording part information
- The ability to read and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, and vehicle identification systems
- Problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality service
- Previous experience in automotive spare parts, technical support, or a related automotive field is highly desirable
- A valid driver's licence and familiarity with Ford vehicle models are advantageous
