We are currently recruiting for a Social Worker to work within a Medical Practice in the Bondi Junction area. The role would involve providing social work services to people in the Eastern Suburbs. It would be varied position, working with people who present to the GP Practices with a range of issues, including things like Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol issues, Housing, Homelessness, Domestic Violence or other challenges. The services provided to those who present for support would also be diverse, ranging from providing incidental counselling, helping with applications for support, linking the person to other services, and understanding the persons needs etc. The services for those presenting at the GP practice to see the Social Worker would be free of charge. - Work in the Bondi Junction area
- Normal Office hours (there can be flexibility with this)
- Full Time role – 38 hours per week
- Contract until June 2027.
- Hourly pay rate of $66 per hour, plus super (annual salary ~ $130k). You would also accrue holiday pay and sick pay and be a direct employee of the practice
- GP Clinic based position The organization: This organisation is a well established GP practice network, with a number of locations. The role would be working within a project to support people in the Eastern Suburbs and you would work alongside two other Social Workers who also do the same role within other practices so there would be support and collaborative working available. Duties:




- Carry out assessments to understand the needs of the person
- Signpost suitable services to ensure the person accesses the best and most relevant services possible
- Help people to navigate the various systems and processes to gain access to the support they need
- Work in a trauma informed way, ensuring those who may have experienced trauma, are well supported and can access the most suitable services.
- Work closely with doctors / GP’s and other health professionals

Requirements:

- We require you to have a Social Work Degree
- Preferable to have at least 3+ years of post qualifying experience, ideally in a variety of settings
- Skills in counselling, support, case management and working in a trauma informed way
- Essential for the person to be able to attend the GP Practice regularly (hybrid work would not be available)
- Experience working in the Eastern Suburbs and what services are available is highly beneficial (but not essential)
- Availability to begin quickly would be preferable. On Offer:
