## Senior IBM ACE Integration Developer Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide | Sydney may be considered 12-Month Contract + Potential Extensions | Hybrid Working Active NV1 Security Clearance Mandatory We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM ACE Integration Developer to join a major Australian Government organisation, delivering secure, enterprise-scale integration and messaging solutions. This is a hands-on senior technical role requiring strong experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM API Connect (APIC), ESQL and Java, alongside enterprise integration, API development, messaging and security. You will contribute to the design, development, enhancement and support of critical integration services within a large and complex ICT environment. ##

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise integration solutions using IBM ACE and IBM API Connect.
- Develop integration logic, message transformations and service interfaces using ESQL and Java.
- Define and document messaging requirements, XML schemas and integration specifications.
- Design secure, reusable APIs and services to support interoperability between enterprise systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex integration, messaging and performance issues.
- Implement secure integration practices involving TLS, PKI, XML and related standards.
- Develop and maintain integration monitoring, logging, auditing and testing capabilities.
- Conduct technical design and code reviews, ensuring solution quality, performance and maintainability.
- Support security remediation,



cyber resilience and compliance requirements within enterprise integration environments.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, cyber security teams and business stakeholders.
- Produce technical documentation, support delivery planning and mentor team members. ## Essential Skills and Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM ACE and IBM API Connect (APIC).
- Strong development experience using ESQL and Java.
- Proven experience designing, developing and supporting enterprise integration and messaging solutions.
- Experience with APIs, web services, XML, XML schemas, message transformation and integration patterns.
- Understanding of TLS, PKI and secure application integration practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues in large-scale ICT environments.
- Demonstrated experience in cyber resilience, security remediation or compliance initiatives.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards, including ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight and relevant risk management practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, technical documentation and problem-solving skills. ## Highly Desirable
- Previous experience delivering integration solutions within Australian Government or regulated environments.




- Experience with enterprise cloud, infrastructure, identity and access management or security operations.
- Understanding of NIST cyber security frameworks.
- Experience contributing to ICT modernisation, cyber security uplift and remediation programs.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, mentor developers and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders. ## Location and Working Arrangements Positions are available in:

- Sydney, NSW – may be considered Candidates must be able to work from the nominated office location. Initial six weeks: Office-based attendance required. After six weeks: Hybrid arrangements may be considered, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. ## Contract Details

- Estimated commencement: 1 February 2027
- Initial contract: 12 months
- Extensions: Potential extensions up to a maximum of 24 months
- Security clearance: Active NV1 required before commencement ##
